The weekly newsletters show covers, descriptions, ratings, and/or reviews for the preponderance of your new books, DVDs, music CDs, audiobooks, ebooks, and eaudios.  Patrons can click directly through to your website to place holds and get further information.

Each email newsletter itself shows up to 20 "Top Choices" items selected for popularity and variety. The issue also directs patrons to additional pages of new items, organized by genre. Patrons with a format preference can choose to see just ebooks/eaudios or just physical copies.  Patrons can also customize their weekly newsletter and create author alerts.

Each item description includes the title and a borrow link, plus as available:

  • Author or Artist
  • Cover
  • Synopsis
  • Goodreads reader ratings and a link to reader reviews
  • Publisher
  • Google book preview
  • Links to more information on other sites

The newsletters also link to previous editions, so patrons who miss an issue can go back and see new items from prior weeks.

Can I add my own content to the newsletters?

Yes. News items allow you to enter custom text and images to highlight library programs, closures, resources, or anything else you wish. You can create custom reviews to highlight specific titles in your newsletter. This is a great way to provide staff recommendations or feature books for book clubs or a community reading event. Additionally, you can exclude or promote items to feature in the Top Choices. Both news items and custom reviews are easy to create, edit and schedule.

Your newsletter can automatically include:

  • The newest eMagazines in your OverDrive, CloudLibrary, or Magzter collection
  • Current New York Times best sellers in your library
  • Upcoming events from your online event calendar
Wowbrary has been wonderful. I am excited that you are going to automatically import our events from our calendar! That will definitely help save me time. Thank you for all you do.

Can I use the newsletters as new book lists?

Yes. Many libraries link directly from their catalog to our newsletters, which serve as new book lists. You can link to specific genre and format pages as well, such as DVDs and Mysteries. Like everything else in Wowbrary, these pages automatically update each week and provide an excellent way for patrons browsing online to see your latest items.

How do patrons subscribe?

Patrons can subscribe directly through the Wowbrary website and through pages you can customize. You can also quickly add addresses to the subscriber list.  In some towns over 10% of the entire population is signed up for Wowbrary. The many ways to sign up subscribers include:

  • Graphics and links you can place on your library pages
  • Sample press releases and publicity materials
  • One-step signup by staff when processing library card applications
  • En masse enrollment from your own address lists, with a welcome message you customize
